[compass.jpg]

I made the compass part of this way back as part of another quilt which never really worked, so this March 2004, I thought I'd use what I had; I added borders, quilted it, and now it's an 18" square vibrant wall hanging. This now belongs to joelll, since the original quilt was for him. It was briefly displayed in the Lunacon art show.

Yet another small cat art quilt, a little different again from the others. This was also briefly displayed in the Lunacon art show, and then given to a friend who'd fallen for it. It's about 11x19", and was made in March, 2004. The backing is the same blue bubbly background fabric that's on the front.

I made this 40"x58" lap quilt because I received a lovely piece of black flannel from a friend. The flannel has ended up being the backing and the sashing, and the rest of this is a half crazy-pieced mishmash of all velvets, partly from my collection and partly from the scrap collection of another friend. The quilt is half quilted (border, and squares inside each solid block) and half tied (four differently-colored ties inside each pieced block), which seems to work quite nicely for this pattern.

Three things make this 40"x47" baby quilt excellent - the flannel ducky fabric on the back, the really cute eyes on the dragonflies and other animals on the front, and the monkey wrench design.

This 36"x36" wall hanging was a wedding present for my cousin and his now wife. Made in September, 2004 for their wedding on October 16, 2004. Later in October, I made a small 25"x20" wall hanging for myself with some of the leftover cut scraps from that quilt. Here's a picture of it.

This is a fabulous baby quilt with a solid light purple flannel backing. Made in early October, 2004 for Erika, born November 3, 2004.

With apologies for the weird angle of this camera shot, this twin bed quilt (pictured on a double-sized bed) was made in October, 2004 for my sweetie. It has a brown leafy flannel backing, and is partially quilted and partially tied. The piecing is a magic stack & whack kaleidoscope pattern.

This isn't actually a quilt, but it's just so cute I had to share it here. This is a crocheted baby blanket, made with Lion Brand Homespun, a very soft bulky acrylic yarn. The bear's nose is stuffed; the rest of it is flat. Each square is 12" per side, making the whole thing a reasonable size. And yes, he has a belly button. Made as a new baby present in November 2004 for Sophia, born Jan. 19, 2005.

This is one of the brightest and most cheerful patterns I've made. Plus, I had enough fabric, so I made three! I made two 35"x45" baby quilts in late November 2004 (see first photo): one for Jesse, born Dec. 7, 2004, and one for Benjamin, born Jan. 10, 2005, and then I followed that up in December with a twin-sized (63"x89") bed quilt with a few extra strips of brightness (see second photo) for James. The baby quilts have a white flannel backing with letters and numbers. The bed quilt has the bright four-colored backing shown in the third photo.
