[chuppah.jpg] I took a break from quilting as I was moving and then busy planning my wedding, but that meant that my next project was the chuppah (canopy) for the wedding. It's about 62" square, and has a white satin back. I did not sew in any batting, so there is more of a stained glass effect when the light is shining through. I finished the quilt at the end of August, 2007. The wedding took place October 28, 2007.

[sideboard.jpg] When I'd finished the chuppah, I had some fabric left over, including some already sewn strips of blue fabrics, so I sewed these all into a cover for our sideboard, to help protect the wood. The back of this one is more of the same white satin, but with another strip of blue squares vertically down the center, so it's still fancy enough to be reversible. This quilt measures 21"x65". This was made in September, 2007.

[flyinggeese.jpg] This is a baby quilt made for my cousin, Nikhil Dylan, born October 28, 2007. It's 40"x46", and has a very cute fleece backing. The design on the front is strips of flying geese (that triangle pattern).

[flannelirishchain.jpg] I made this 54"x66" all flannel lap quilt for our upstairs neighbors (and landlords) as a holiday present, finished and delivered on December 24, 2007. The pattern is a single irish chain. The back is also flannel - a coordinating white snowflake fabric to the blue snowflake pattern on the front. It's very soft and cozy, and will make a perfect sofa blanket for winter evenings.

[diamondbaby.jpg] If this looks similar to the baby quilt I made for Nikhil, you're right. It's 36"x44", has a cute light blue fleece backing, and is very colorful. It was a gift for a new baby.

[kobybaby.jpg] This 44"x53" quilt was made for my nephew, Koby Zev, born March 27, 2008. It's hard to see, but written next to each of the litle animals on the front is the noise the animal makes. The backing is fleece.

[cats2.jpg] This wallhanging, finished in mid-June 2008, was made entirely out of scraps which I already had in the house. The back's a brownish cotton. It's currently hanging in the dining room, and was made to replace the one of these which I made but left at the Khan. I'll get it back someday, but who knows when. This one's 29"x41".

[paisleycat.jpg] And one more cat quilt for now. This is just a small cube-hanging, finished at the beginning of August and given to Jonah to put up at work. It's also made of scraps, and is 11.5" square. I did have to get button eyes from Ellen - I'd run out of useful buttons in my own stash - they're shiny, and didn't make it into this picture.
